Man is fined over scanner

A MAN who put a scanner on his ex-wife's car has been fined.

Simon Darlington, 47, of Locks Road, Locks Heath, had previously admitted stalking Emma Darlington between November 28 and December 19 last year.

Sentencing him, Portsmouth magistrates handed him a community order with 15 days of rehabilitation activities, a £50 fine and a restraining order.

It bans him from contacting his ex-wife for a year except in certain circumstances.

He must pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

An earlier court hearing was told Darlington put the scanner on her car and loaded software on his computer.

He also sent her abusive messages about her new boyfriend.
