A YOUNG man was thrown to the ground and assaulted as attackers mugged him for his mobile phone.

The 20-year-old, from Bognor, was walking along an alleyway between Normanton Avenue and Marshall Avenue when he was attacked from behind.

His assailants snatched a black i-Phone 6+ from his hands and ran off towards Bognor Regis Football Club.

The robbery happened at about 11.15pm on July 12. Detective Constable Andrea Watts, of Chichester CID, said: ‘People should be aware and use well-lit areas.’
