A CASHIER was threatened by a man wearing a skeleton-style mask who stormed into a convenience store.

The man, who was wearing a skeleton-style mask, threatened the 34-year-old woman working at Best One, in Stone Square, Leigh Park, with a walking stick.

He demanded cash, but ran from the convenience store when another member of staff came to the cashier’s assistance.

Nothing was taken and no-one was hurt.

Police have now released CCTV footage of the suspect following the attempted robbery at around 9.45am on Monday.

The man was last seen heading down a nearby alleyway on a bicycle.

He was described as white, between 5ft 5in and 5ft 8in tall, of slim build, and in his late teens or early 20s.

He was wearing a black and grey skeleton-style mask and a black and grey tracksuit.

He also carried a black walking stick.
