A MAN was punched to the ground and kicked in the head after knocking into a woman.

At about 12.30am on Friday, a man and his wife were walking home from a pub after celebrating the Queen’s birthday.

The 53-year-old man accidentally knocked into a woman in Station Road in Bognor.

She was walking with three men and despite the victim apologising, he was punched to the ground and then kicked in the head several times.

He was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester to have treatment for facial injuries.

Det Con Claire Daysh said: ‘This was a nasty attack.’

n An 18-year-old Chichester woman and a 19-year-old Bognor man were arrested on suspicion of causing GBH and have been bailed until May 9.
