A MAN has been jailed after stealing meat from a shop and money from a cafe till.

Darren Elston, 45, of Waverley Road, Southsea, was sentenced at South East Hants Magistrates Court last week to 56 days in prison following two thefts.

He was charged with theft from a shop, after 10 steaks were stolen from the Co-op in Albert Road.

He was also charged with burglary other than dwelling – theft, after £95 was stolen from a till at The Tenth Hole, Eastern Parade, on March 17.
