TWO men have been arrested after a man was severely assaulted in Gosport on Sunday evening.

A 28-year-old man has been left with a fractured eye socket and a broken arm, after being chased by three men from Forton Road to Brougham Street at around 10.30pm on Sunday.

Hampshire police has arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of attempted GBH with intent, and a 23-year-old man on attempted wounding with intent.

The men, who are both Gosport residents, are being kept in custody.

Hampshire police is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
