A HUSBAND has admitted making a hoax bomb threat, claiming his wife was carrying a bomb in her bag.

Kevin Flynn, 31, of Wellington Road, Bognor, told police his wife was travelling to America with a bomb in her luggage.

Worthing Magistrates’ Court heard he phoned police anonymously from a phone box on July 31 to tell them his recently-estranged wife, Kerensa Flynn, was carrying a bomb either at Heathrow or Gatwick Airport.

Mrs Flynn, 32, was arrested by police and taken off the plane – bound for New York – before it left Heathrow Airport.

The court was told he was angry after the row and had wanted to ground a flight his wife was due to board.

Prosecutor Peter Lytle said: ‘He said he made the call because he was so angry about what she had done that he wanted her stopped before she left the country.’

Flynn pleaded guilty to making a bomb hoax and communicating false information and will be sentenced on October 10.
