Man must pay for an assault
A MAN must pay hundreds of pounds for assaulting a woman on Christmas Day.
Barry Doughty, 25, of Dunsbury Way, Havant, admitted assaulting a woman by beating when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court. He was given a community order with 40 days of rehabilitation activities and 40 hours unpaid work.
He must pay £200 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.
Magistrates ordered him to pay £250 prosecution costs.
