MAGISTRATES have fined a man for possessing three kitchen knives in public.

Ben Were, 29, of Halfpenny Dell, Purbrook, admitted having the knives on him in Stockheath Road, Havant.

He admitted committing the crime while subject to a six-month conditional discharge.

Were was given a community order by Portsmouth magistrates stating he must attend four sessions with an education, training and employment worker at Havant Probation Service in the next six months. He must also attend appointments when requested for the next year. An order was made for the knives to be forfeited and destroyed.
