A MAN has admitted possessing cannabis.

Alfred Pearce, from Lumsden Road, Southsea, pleaded guilty to having a quantity of the class B drug on him in Washington Road, Paulsgrove, Portsmouth.

The 28-year-old was fined £70.

Pearce was ordered to pay £20 to a fund for crime victims and £80 in court costs.

Magistrates made an order for the cannabis that was seized to be forfeited and destroyed under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
