A SHOPLIFTER has been ordered to do unpaid work.

Gavin Pemberton pleaded guilty to stealing 500 metres of wire rope from Scats Country Stores in Fareham Road, Wickham, on October 21.

The 28-year-old, of St Cross Road, Winchester, was ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work by Fareham magistrates. He was also ordered to pay £70.20 compensation to the store.
