Police say no action will be taken against a man at the centre of a house drama in Titchfield.
Armed police were called to the property in the village on Monday night.
Residents reported officers with guns apparently preparing to force their way into a house. A police negotiator was also called out.
Ambulance crews were put on standby for the incident. A man was eventually led from the house and taken away in a police van at about 11.20pm.
Hampshire Police said in a statement: ‘Police can confirm a 45-year-old man was arrested and released without charge following an incident at an address in Bellfield, Titchfield.
‘Officers responded after concerns for the safety of a man in a house on his own at around 7.45pm on Monday, April 25.
‘Specialist officers spoke to the man who then came out.
‘Officers say this was an isolated and self contained incident which posed no risk to anyone else.’
