POLICE have released without charge a 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murdering an artist.

Valerie Graves was killed in a house in Smugglers Lane, Bosham, on December 30. She was house-sitting with other members of her family while the owners were away over Christmas.

The man arrested in connection with her death was told yesterday that he faces no further action. Chief Inspector Justin Burtenshaw, district policing commander for Chichester, said: ‘Some local residents are obviously concerned and we want to do all we can to reassure them.

‘I have ensured that extra patrols continue in the area and the neighbourhood policing team is available in Bosham to speak to residents about their concerns.’

Anyone with information should ring 101 or email quoting Operation Ensign or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
