Man's head stamped on and punched in Waterlooville attack

A MAN who stopped to help someone being sick was punched and stamped on.Â

Police are investigating the assault after the 35-year-old victim needed stitches.

He was walking along London Road, in Waterlooville, between 11.45pm and 11.55pm on September 8 when he saw a man being sick and stopped to check he was okay.

The man, who was with a woman, punched the victim and then stamped on his head. The victim sustained bruising and swelling around his eye and needed stitches. 

The suspect was white, between 20 and 30 years old, 6ft 1ins and of a medium build. He had short brown hair that was longer on top and was wearing a grey, tie-dyed T-shirt.

 A spokeswoman from police said: '˜We'd like to hear from anyone who was in London Road at the time and may have seen this assault.'
