Man is stabbed and shot during armed raid at Hampshire bank

A MAN was shot and stabbed during an armed robbery at a bank.

Police have launched a manhunt after the robbery at Lloyds Bank, in Liphook.

Officers were called at 4.10pm yesterday to reports that two men had demanded cash.

One of them was armed with a knife and the other with an air gun, which was fired.

A man was shot in the face by a pellet and also received a small stab wound during the robbery.

He was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital, in Guildford, to be treated and has since been discharged.

Nothing was taken during the robbery.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘The two men fled the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate them.

‘CCTV has also been viewed of the incident and officers are treating this as an isolated incident.’

The man with the air gun was described as white, the other man had his face covered.

Both were described as slim, between 5ft 7ins and 6ft tall, and were wearing hooded tops.
