A MAN was stabbed during a mass brawl in a Southsea street early today.

Up to 25 people were involved in the fight at the junction of Albert Road and Oxford Road in Southsea at around 4am this morning.

Numerous police vehicles attended the scene and four people were arrested for suspected assault causing grevious bodily harm.

A police spokeswoman confirmed thata man had suffered two stab wounds that are not believed to be life threatening and that a weapon has been recovered.

She said the arrested men were a 21-year-old from Luton, a 25-year-old from Newmarket, a 29-year-old from Mitcham, and 27-year-old for whom they had no immediate address.

A police cordon remained at the scene this morning as officers from Southsea CID continued their investigations.
