Man suffers head injury in Cowplain attack

A man suffered a serious head injury in an attack in Cowplain.

Hampshire Police today revealed details of the attack as they appealed for witnesses.

A spokesman said: ‘Between 12.30am and 1.10am on Saturday, November 19, the 49-year-old victim had an encounter with a group of men outside The Spotted Cow pub on London Road.

‘He then walked off down the street before being assaulted near to the junction with King’s Road by a man who was part of a group.

‘One of the men was described as wearing a long brown jacket, and all were described as men aged in their 20s.

‘As a result of the incident, the victim was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital for treatment to a serious head injury.

‘Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, including prior to the assault taking place.
