The 35-year-old was in Lake Road, Landport, on the grass verge when he was attacked on Saturday.

It happened between 10.30pm and 11.30pm near the entrance to the subway.

Detective Constable Deborah Mason said police ‘are particularly keen to trace a woman who was heard by the victim to scream.’
