A JEWELLERY store was targeted in an attempted armed robbery.

A man entered G and S Jewellers shop, in Charlotte Street, Landport, and threatened three female staff with a knife as he demanded jewellery.

But he was forced to flee empty-handed and was seen running along Charlotte Street and Eden Street, into the former Tricorn car park.

He was white and wearing a balaclava.

This man was seen with another white man, who had been waiting on the corner of Charlotte Street and Eden Street.

Staff in the store were not injured in the incident, which took place at around 9.50am on Saturday.
