POLICE have released an e-fit of a man wanted for grabbing a 14-year-old girl as she walked along a bridleway.

The teenager was walking near stables between Mengham Lane and Salterns Lane in Hayling Island when the attacker approached her and grabbed hold of her wrist.

She kicked the suspect and managed to struggle free, running off towards Salterns Lane. The attacker fled towards Mengham Lane at about 9.30pm on June 24.

Detective Inspector Wendy Priston said: ‘This incident has left the young girl very understandably shaken and upset. While she did not come to any harm, we are very keen to track down this man quickly, as this kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable.’

Police say they want to speak to anyone using the bridleway at the time of the incident.

The suspect is white, aged about 40, about 6ft and skinny.

He had long, white or grey hair and was unshaven. He wore a black hooded jumper with a double front pocket and baggy jeans.
