POLICE caught a man in the driver’s seat of his car with the keys on him when he was more than twice the legal drink-drive limit.
Jonathan Richardson, of Park Avenue, Waterlooville, was found in Albert Road, Cosham.
A breathalyser test revealed he had 90 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.
Initially, the 43-year-old denied the offence of being in charge of a motor vehicle while over the limit.
But he changed his plea to guilty before the trial at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court was due to start.
Richardson was fined £400 and told to pay £215 in costs.
He was banned from driving for a month.
