A MEAT thief has been given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Lee Appleby, 30, of Beresford Close, Waterlooville, admitted stealing meat from the Co-op in Drayton, on December 19. He was told to pay £40 in costs and £18 compensation by Portsmouth magistrates.
