Men admit hate crime at Portsmouth mosque

TWO men have admitted a hate crime at a mosque.

Eddie Lock, 25, of Minley Road, Farnborough and John Whyton-Walker, 50, of Clarence Road, Isle of Wight, pleaded guilty to causing religiously-aggravated harassment, alarm or distress. They committed the crime at Portsmouth Central Mosque in Somers Road, Fratton, on May 23 last year.

Portsmouth magistrates handed Lock a community order and 80 hours of unpaid work. He must pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs. Whyton-Walker was given a community order with 15 days of rehabilitation. He must pay the same.
