Men arrested after pig's head cable-tied to Islamic school gates in Portsmouth
TWO men have been arrested after a severed pig's head was cable-tied to the gates of an Islamic school.
A Nazi swastika had been drawn on the head, which was left at the gates of the Madani Academy in Lake Road, Portsmouth, on January 21.
An offensive term had been written about Allah on it.
Now two men, 22 and 24, both from Portsmouth, have been arrested.
A Hampshire police spokeswoman said they were arrested on suspicion of racially and religiously aggravated intentional harassment or distress by words or writing.
They have been bailed until April 29.
The incident sparked a major manhunt as Portsmouth’s most senior officer, Supt Will Schofield vowed to catch those responsible.
Shocked parents and staff were disgusted to find the head after arriving at 8.30am.
Teaching is based on Islamic practices. Eating pork is forbidden in the religion.
