Military investigators '˜aware' of woman's claim to be missing Katrice Lee

MILITARY investigators have said they are '˜aware' a woman has claimed to be missing toddler Katrice Lee.

The News revealed on Wednesday how the missing girl's sister, Gosport-based 44-year-old Natasha Lee, has been left upset after receiving a friend request from a Facebook profile mocked up as the vanished toddler.

Katrice went missing on her second birthday in November 1981 on a trip to the supermarket with her family.

The Royal Military Police is re-investigating the disappearance after Katrice's family have battled for answers.

Wirral actress Heidi Robinson has contacted The News re-iterating her claim to be the missing toddler.

The Army spokeswoman said: '˜We are aware that a female in Liverpool has claimed to be Katrice Lee who went missing in Germany in 1981.

'˜The Royal Military Police are investigating Katrice's disappearance, but at this stage and without DNA testing, can neither confirm nor deny that this is Katrice, and it would be inappropriate to comment further.'

Investigators DNA test those claiming to be Katrice.
