A SEX offender who has been missing since November has been arrested.

James Alexander Campbell, 41, was the focus of a police appeal after he failed to register with the authorities.

He was last seen in Portsmouth on November 19 when he was released from court over an unrelated charge of shoplifting.

Campbell was arrested in the Manchester area and remains in police custody.

Hampshire Police thanked the public for their help in providing information.
