A MOTORIST who opened her car door and hit a passing motorcyclist has been fined for driving without due care and attention.

Debbie Kellett pleaded guilty to committing the offence in Jubilee Road, Fareham.

The 51-year-old, from Windmill Grove, Fareham, was fined £180 by Fareham magistrates.

She was ordered to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £35 in costs to Hampshire Police Authority.

Six penalty points were added to her driving licence.

Kellett pleaded guilty to an offence of opening the car door so as to injure or endanger a person relating to the same incident.

However magistrates imposed no separate penalty.
