A MOTORIST caught driving while almost three times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the roads.

Geoffrey Pederson admitted driving a Volkswagen Golf in Newgate Lane, Fareham, after drinking too much on June 19.

A test revealed the 56-year-old’s breath contained 90 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Pederson, of Edinburgh Close, Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, was banned from driving for 18 months by Fareham magistrates. He was fined £600 and told to pay £15 to crime victims and £85 costs.
