A MUM’S purse was snatched as she was out walking with her children.

The 24-year-old victim was walking in Gordon Road, Southsea, towards Pier Road with her two children when two men on bikes approached them from behind.

As they cycled past her one of the men snatched her purse, which contained cash, out of her hand.

They then rode off towards Kings Road at about 1.40pm on February 24.

One of the men was riding a mountain bike and the other a BMX.

PC Ross Hanley said: ‘Not only was the mother very shaken up by this incident, but her children were very distraught as well. The stretch of road where the incident happened is very busy with many cars passing, so one of the passing motorists may have witnessed this incident.

‘I urge people to come forward with any information, no matter how trivial they believe it to be, as it could be vital to catching these offenders and bringing them to justice.’

The first man is black, aged about 19, 5ft 3in, with a shaved head. He wore a green Adidas T-shirt and dark Adidas tracksuit bottoms. He was carrying a Reebok bag.

The second man is black, about 19, skinny, and 5ft 7in, with short, dark hair.

He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. Call PC Hanley at Cosham station on 101.
