Mystery as woman found unconscious near bin sheds in Portsmouth

AN UNCONSCIOUS woman was found near bin sheds, police have said.

The woman, in her 20s, had no obvious injuries but was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

She had been in Popworld nightclub in King Henry Street, at 2.30am but left to go into Guildhall Walk.

She was wearing dark trousers and a white and grey striped top.

Hours later at 5.40am on July 23 she was found in Earlsdon Street, Southsea, near bin sheds.

Now police are trying to find out if a crime has taken place.

Detective Sergeant Damian Glendenning said: ‘We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen her leave the club that night, who walked past the bin sheds that evening or who thinks they saw her between 2.30am and 5.40am.

‘We are keeping an open mind regarding what has happened at this stage and would like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have information that could assist our investigation.’
