A new scam is targeting Netflix users and police are warning people to be aware of it. 

Fake emails have been sent claiming that there is a problem with your account with the streaming giant or that it has been suspended. 

The scam then encourages Netflix users to ‘update' their account in order to resolve the issue.

The scam emails include a link to a website which looks genuinely like Netflix but it is just a phishing site designed to steal your username and password as well as your payment details. 

Greater Manchester Police Sale have been warning people about the scam online.

They have said: ‘Always question unsolicited requests  for your personal or financial information in case it's a scam.  

'Never automatically click on a link in an unexpected email or text.’
