NINE drivers were charged with drink-driving-related offences in Sussex over the new year.

Unemployed Adam Massey, 27, of Rose Green Road, Bognor Regis, was stopped in Charles Avenue, Chichester, at 4.15am on Wednesday, January 1 and was charged with drink-driving.

He will appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on January 21.

A total of 15 people were arrested on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Nine were charged, three were bailed to return at a later date and three were released with no further action.
