A PENSIONER has appeared in court charged with harassing Portsmouth South MP Mike Hancock.

Les Cummings, 69, of Sydenham Court, Berkshire Close, Landport, Portsmouth, is accused of the offence between February and September last year.

Mr Cummings appeared in court in his wheelchair during the hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court. He was released on conditional bail and is due to reappear before the court on March 10 for a plea and case management hearing.

He is not allowed to contact Mr Hancock or his wife Jacqui, nor go near the MP’s office or home.
