Officers among fittest in the country

POLICE in Hampshire are among the most physically fit in the country, new figures show.

Just seven police officers out of 1,334 failed a fitness test in 12 months, the College of Policing revealed.

The figures – which show 99.5 per cent passed – cover from September 2014 to August 2015. They show only City of London Police with a 100 per cent pass rate and South Wales police, with 99.6 per cent, had a higher pass rate.

In February The News revealed that 10 failed in the whole of 2015 but 1,660 police officers passed. The beep test level required to pass depends on job roles.
