POLICE in the area are donating to a fund set up after an officer was killed on duty.

Hampshire Police Federation said officers had been in touch asking to donate to the family of PC Dave Phillips.

The 34-year-old was using a stinger device to stop a red Mitsubishi pick-up when he was hit by the car on Monday in Liverpool.

Last night an 18-year-old man was charged with PC Phillips’ murder.
