Park equipment worth thousands is stolen

AN APPEAL for information has been launched after thousands of pounds of equipment was stolen from a country park.

Two wood splitters and a chipper were taken from Staunton Country Park on Petersfield Road, Havant, between 4pm on Wednesday, November 30, and 2pm on Sunday, December 1.

PCSO Ben Howard said: ‘Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the busy area?

‘You may have seen a lorry parked near the park at 10pm on Wednesday, November 30, and are able to tell us its make and company markings.

‘Unusual items have been taken in this theft and you may have seen something similar for sale on social media or buy and sell websites.

‘Please ensure your machinery and tools are locked away with suitable security measures in place.’

Details of the stolen items are one wood splitter worth £400, one Woodline WL10 wood splitter (serial number 42665), in the colour red, also worth £400, and one 
Timberwolf PTO150H wood chipper (serial number 205121007A1), in orange, worth up to £5,000.
