MOTORIST Roland Mignot was caught driving while more than three times the legal alcohol limit.

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen Berlingo at the Church Road junction with Hunts Pond Road in Locks Heath after drinking too much on June 4.

A test revealed his breath contained 107 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The legal limit is 35mg.

Mignot, of Hunts Pond Road, Park Gate, near Southampton, was ordered to do 90 hours of unpaid work in the next year by Fareham magistrates.

He was also told to pay £85 in court costs and banned from driving for 22 months. The ban could be cut by 166 days if Mignot pays to complete a government-approved driving course by September 2012.
