A TAXI driver was punched and kicked during a late-night robbery by one of his passengers.

The 43-year-old victim had picked up two women and three men outside Thursdays nightclub in Drayton Lane, Chichester, shortly before the attack.

One of the women and a man asked to be dropped at a cashpoint at Sainsburys in Westhampnett Road, then the other woman got out at Melbourne Road.

The taxi driver was then punched and kicked and robbed of cash by one of the remaining two men, who got out of the taxi. The other man then ran off at about 3.35am on Sunday.

It is not known how much cash was stolen.

The woman who got out at the cashpoint is white, aged 25 to 30, with short grey hair and was wore a black blouse and short white skirt. The other woman is white, aged 25 to 30, 5ft 6in, and wore a black skirt.
