A PENSIONER’S £70,000 lifesavings reported stolen from a coach has been found – as he had left it at an airport.

Police were called amid fears the 81-year-old’s money had been snatched from a Portsmouth-bound National Express coach from London Heathrow.

The British man, who lives in Thailand, thought he had put a black holdall containing the money – made up of Australian dollars and Thai baht – in the hold of the coach on Tuesday. But when the coach got to The Hard, the bag wasn’t there.

Now police say CCTV footage revealed the man had in fact left the bag on a luggage trolley at Heathrow Airport, and it is now in lost property.
