PATROLS are being put on near the Muslim school where a severed pig’s head was attached to its gates.

Hampshire police said officers are carrying out reassurance patrols near the Madani Academy in Landport after the hate crime.

It comes after the head was seen on CCTV being cable-tied to the gates last Wednesday evening. Teachers, parents and pupils were horrified to discover the head as they arrived to the school on Thursday morning at 8.30am.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘We are still investigating this incident and enquiries are ongoing.

‘We are also carrying out high-visibility reassurance patrols in the area of The Madani Academy.’

Supt Will Schofield, Portsmouth’s most senior police officer, has vowed to find those responsible. Call 101 quoting 44160030331.
