POLICE patrols have been stepped up in a key shopping area amid a surge of anti-social behaviour reports.

Officers are conducting more patrols in the Palmerston Road area of Southsea.

It comes after traders reported a flurry of problems with youths committing low level theft and anti-social behaviour. Police are aware of the troublemakers and are visiting retailers to provide reassurance.
