TAKEAWAY staff were assaulted and abused in a ‘disgusting’ racist attack.

A gang of five youths – three boys and two girls – set upon workers and damaged a window at Pompey Nosh in Allaway Avenue, Paulsgrove, Portsmouth. Some were seen to spit into the shop and hurl racist abuse at the staff in the incident, between 10pm and 10.20pm on November 23.

Now police have released this CCTV image of the suspects and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

PC David Tester said: ‘The behaviour of this group was really quite disgusting with some members of the group seen to spit through the front door of the shop and racially abuse staff inside. Staff should not have to tolerate this kind of behaviour.

‘Police are actively trying to stamp out anti-social behaviour in Portsmouth and need the help of the public to help us identify those involved.’
