Pensioner foils knife-wielding robber in Gosport

A KNIFE-WIELDING masked robber was stopped from raiding a shop by a 71-year-old woman.

The man burst into Gina’s corner shop in Clayhall Road, Gosport.

He put a knife and a bag on the counter demanding cash – but the pensioner blocked him from getting behind the counter.

He then rode off on a blue and white bike after the attempted robbery, which happened at 5.15pm on June 20.

The man was 5ft 6in, slim, wearing a black wool balaclava, a large hooded navy jacket, and black tracksuit bottoms

He was carrying a lime green bag which had a pull cord top.
