A thief walked into an elderly woman’s house and made off with her handbag.

The crook entered the 89-year-old’s house in Heath Road, Petersfield, through an unlocked kitchen door while she was at home at 3pm on Monday.

He stole a handbag containing £100 in cash,

The man was white, aged 18 to 25, of average build, about 5ft 9in tall and had brown hair.

Detective Constable Ewan Gardner said: ‘This was a brazen daylight burglary.’
