A PENSIONER disturbed a man who had got into his back garden and tried to force open the door of his conservatory.

The would-be burglar then ran away and a dark-coloured 4x4 vehicle drove out from the garage area behind the house in Wildmoor Walk, Havant.

PC Lucia Davies said: ‘We would like to speak to anyone with information on this incident, and in particular the driver or passengers of the vehicle that drove away.

‘People should always check their doors and windows are locked, even if they are in another part of the house.’

Police say the incident took place at about 8.45am on Friday.

The suspect was believed to be white, 5ft 7in, and aged between 20 and 40.

He had dark hair, was of medium build and wore a grey or light brown puffer-style jacket without a hood and dark trousers.
