The pictures show the damaged blue vehicle being taken away from the scene after it appeared to lose control coming up to the junction, and skidding onto the grass.

The incident happened on the B2150 at the junction with Friendstaple Road and Tempest Avenue shortly before 8am.

Eyewitness Malcolm Garbutt, of Lavender Road in Waterlooville, said: ‘The car went over the roundabout, across another road and ended up embedded on the crash barrier.’

Police and fire crews from Havant were called to help remove the car from the scene.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said police were called at 8am to a crash involving one car, and there were not thought to be any injuries.

South Central Ambulance Service confirmed it received a call but an ambulance did not need to attend.
