PEOPLE in Gosport will have a chance to meet members of the fire service, ambulance service and police at a safety day.

The annual Gosport Safer Community Day will be held on Saturday, March 29, with Hampshire Constabulary’s police and crime commissioner Simon Hayes due to attend the event.

Along with the emergency services, the military police, Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service and Neighbourhood Watch, many others will be there.

Visitors can book a home fire safety check, get their bikes coded for free and get information about how to keep safe in the community.

Discounted bike locks will be on sale and property-marking pens will be available for free. There will also be a survey.

It starts at 11am at the Town Hall and Nat Gonella Square and finishes at 2pm.

The probation service, Southern Cooperative, housing association First Wessex, Gosport Street Pastors, Two Saints’ Accommodation Resource Centre, Fareham and Gosport Family Aid and youth group Motiv8 will also be there.
