Police appeal after woman dies in motorbike tragedy at Widley

POLICE are appealing for help in piecing together the last moments of a motorcyclist who died after losing control of her bike near Portsmouth.

The tragedy happened at 2.49pm yesterday. Officers were called to reports of a serious road traffic collision involving a motorcycle in London Road, Widley.

The motorcycle, which was travelling northbound, when the rider lost control and came off the motorcycle, police confirmed this morning.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary added: ‘Despite receiving treatment at the scene from paramedics, sadly the female motorcyclist, from London, died.

Police are now urging people with any information about the tragedy to come forward.

Acting Inspector David Sanderson, said: ‘I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come and speak to us.

‘I would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen the Suzuki Bandit motorcycle prior to the collision.’
