Calls are being made for anyone with information about events leading up to the collision that claimed the lives of two teenagers to contact detectives.

Dozens of officers, led by Hampshire’s Major Investigation Team, are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Jasmine Allsop, 14, and Olivia Lewry, 16.

The two girls died following a collision with a green Honda Civic near the Ann’s Hill Road junction with Brougham Road in Gosport at about 4:15am today.

Area commander, Superintendent Darren O’Callaghan, said: ‘Clearly as part of the investigation we will be looking into the events leading up to this tragic incident we will be looking at the movements of the two girls prior to the events of the early hours of this morning.

‘We will also be looking into the movements of the [suspect] in the time period leading up to 4:15am.’

‘What I would ask any members of the public that either saw the events or have heard anything about what happened last night or otherwise have any other information that could assist the inquiry to contact police on 101 quoting Operation Barb and they will be put through to officer who can help them and get that information through to our inquiry team.’
