POLICE are no longer looking for a suspect for an alleged rape reported at a seafront.

Initial reports from the 18-year-old woman were that she may have been raped near The Lifeboat Inn, Selsey, between 9pm and 11pm on July 29.

The area was cordoned off the next morning, with police searching for evidence.

But after further information from the woman, detectives said they were no longer looking for a suspect in this case.

Detective Sergeant John Kalli, from Sussex police, said: ‘We want to reassure people that we are no longer looking for anyone.’
